Small Groups |
BIG GOD
Just as each of us has one body with many members,
and these members do not all have the same function, so in
Christ we who are
many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
- -Romans 12:4-5 |
Why
Small Groups? |
So
many of us are rushing through life, giving our best to our
family, career, friends and even
our church. There are times when we find ourselves feeling spiritually
and emotionally "out of gas". God wants your
tank "full". Don Williams ("How To Lead A Small Group Bible Study")
says that there are at least four reasons to do it. |
| 1. Evangelistic |
Its
a place to introduce non-Christians to Christ and the vitality
of the Christian community. Non-Christians can experience Christians
honestly struggling and growing in their faith. |
| 2. Educational |
Learning is active.
Ideas and thoughts are shared; questions are articulated; fuzzy
thinking is clarified. |
| 3. Personal |
In a small group,
we "belong" to these people. Emotional connections are made.
No longer lost in the crowd, we learn to communicate our ideas
better. Become more confident in articulating our faith. There
are possibilities for tremendous personal growth. |
| 4. Theological |
A
Small Group actualizes the Biblical truth that we are the
body of Christ together. |
There are Men's,
Women's, Adult and Youth small groups meeting regularly to fit
almost
any schedule. Some groups gather in host homes, at a room
at the church, or at a local restaurant for breakfast. You
may already know Christ as you personal Lord and Saviour, yet
He also wants you to know Him
better by studying
and sharing His Holy Word through the Bible. Go ahead,
make that committment today! Contact Rev. David M. Redding or Ralph
Clark for details
about
how to get involved and get started.
