About
Central College Preschool
Central
College Preschool began in 1971 with one class of 20 children and
now has an enrollment of 400 children ranging in age from 3 to
5. A child must be 3 years old by September 30 of the current school
year and potty-trained to attend Central College Preschool. The
teacher to child ratio is 1:9 for 3 years old and 1:10 for 4 and
5 years old. It has had 4 directors in 36 years. They are Donna
Thayer, Linda Ellsworth (Director Emeritus), Lorie Copeland and
currently Sue Bauer and Sherri Bishop share as Co-Directors. Our
goal is to provide experiences in a loving, supportive environment
where children can grow mentally, physically, socially and emotionally.
We would like to give our children the self confidence that will
help them achieve their best at all levels of development. Classrooms
are well-equipped for age appropriate learning.

Central
College Preschool
is an outreach ministry of Central College Church (Presbyterian
USA), but has its own Board of Directors. It is a Christian
school, but is open to children of any religious affiliation.
We ask that you recognize that the sponsoring organization
is Central College Church, as such, we reserve the right
to express Christian doctrine. This is primarily done through
classroom atmosphere and the way we respond to the children
with Christ-like love.

Licensing
Central
College Preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job
and Family Services, Bureau of Child Care and Development.
125 children may be in attendance at any one time. All staff
have passed background checks.

We are in the process of forming classes for the 2008-2009
school year. We will continue to accept applications based
on class availability. Please mail in or drop applications
off at the preschool office and include the $40 application
fee. We will notify parents of their child's placement by
mail on or before March 31, 2008
